Mecha kits newly arrived

Dual Lipo Charger

Updated my dual charging station

Macross 40th year !

Last year I built a 40th years old Imai 1/72 VF-1 in its fighter mode

More new kits come this year

Arrowmax 4D 1/10 setup tool

My Hudy 1/10 setup tool has been 20 years old, while it is still functional, I need a tool which can effectively measure front caster for modern TC chassis

ArrowMax 4D catches my eyes

It comes with a nice bag, and with additional "pointer" it can works with most of modern TC chassis for front caster measurement.
Most of its moving parts also come with ball bearings to avoid wearing off over time.

BD11 #6

Get the car basic setup on the Hudy setup board

It is an old design setup board I got in like 20 years ago, still work for BD11 but might not work well for other new generation TC

Bodyshell mounting is any other thing new to me, first change is the rear body posts which are now horizontal. It can mount on the body shell rear wall but frankly, the body is so thin that sure it will not last

There are additional metal / graphite mount from rear wing root all the way, which help to strengthen the structure

And finally some additiona body shell support structure to add in the middle of the body and towards the rear side skirts

Hope to get it all done and test run soon.

It has been 10 years (or even more) since I last built 1/10 EP TC. Things really get evolved.

Trumpeter 1/48 J-7B #4

After cockpit, it is time to fix the fuselage

First is to test fit all the parts which fit inside the main fuselage which is a sandwich design :

1. drill a hole and inplant a 2mm cooper wire for the horizontal stabiliser to sit in as there is no other locating pin to help.

2. sit the front cone, nose gear well (with the landing gear), cockpit, engine exhaust and test fit, make sure all of them fit well

3. add some weight in front the fuselage - I added some steel balls inside the nose cone and use AB glue to fix them

4. Finally, applied glue in each session of the fuselage and sit in, add masking tape and let it sit in 24 hours

Good news is that there is no major gap found, but instead there are steps.
I use pen knife to remove the step before apply putty - since the gap is not much, GSI #500 liquid putty to run all round the seams.
Couple of area with slight bigger seam I applied Citadel green putty to fill.
