Since it is a kit from the 80s, better to trail build first and decide what to do next.
Fitting is better than expectation, with no large gap to fill, there are some seams along each part but also some "cover" to hide part of it. There are only a few visible ejection pin marks to deal with. Not bad as a kit in the mid 80s.
The "hardest" part of the seam filling would be along the two backpack exhaust ports, which might be a good exercise for plastic card cutting and fitting instead of filler and sanding.
