PG Zaku II #3

Build process update for the right hand frame.

There are lots of seams to clean on top of the gate cleaning, I decided NOT to fill the seams - it is a kit of snap fit with screws to fix rather than glue.

Trial  build :

Used 5 different colors :

Gaia Star Bright Gold (#122)

Modo T-023 flat alloy

Modo MX-02 gun metal

Gaia German Grey (#221)

Mr Color CG 24 green

Trumpeter 1/144 F-22A #7

The clean version after gold and dull red, which makes it looks like Ironman.

Applied weathering (Modo M-041 clear smoke) on exhaust, with GSI 306 to soften the edge where it got too dark and dirty.  Also use 306 as the surface color of the external fuel tank.

Trumpeter 1/144 F-22A #6

Continued to mask and paint the little exhaust area.
This time round the light grey area is masked, and applied Modo MX-02 on the rear "triangle" and Tamiya LP-18 Dull Red on the other end.
Next and final - would be the gold, still yet to decide which gold to use - thinking of a light gold, definitely not the orange gold like Gaia Star Bright Gold.
Wait for another 48 hours.

Italeri 1/48 Hawk T Mk.1 #2

Applied a layer of gloss clear on the cockpit, #306 on the side wall of the cockpit and black on the inner wall of the air intake / exhaust. It is Modo T024 silver on the "engine" and MX-02 on the exhaust. I doubt if the engine can be seen after the build.

Test fit the fuselage too - seems to be a nice match without any major gap.

Trumpeter 1/144 F-16A/C #2

Applied German grey on the inside of the fuselage and around the cockpit. Added other parts to the airframe - noted that most of them are in good fit except the nose cone does fit well but have a huge (in its scale) step between the front fuselage and the cone, need to sand it down.

Test fit the canopy too, seems all good.

Italeri 1/48 Hawk T Mk.1 #1

I like trainer, I like 2-seater airplane, especially with a huge canopy but with a short tail.

BAE Hawk T is exactly my type.

Started with cockpit, spray a layer of GSI #1500 black primer as the base, and applied GSI 305 (dark grey) and GSI 306 (med grey). Decals was good and easy to apply.

I will skip the ejection seats for time being, and start preparing it when the fuselage is almost done.
No plan to add any optional part or detail kit for time being. Just warm up myself for the world of jet aircrafts.

Trumpeter 1/144 F-22A #5

Applied weathering on both upper and lower airframe, masked the rest of the area near the exhaust ports.

Wanted to have some metallic expression in this area - I have mixed the base light grey (GSI #338) with small portion of Gaia 1001 (silver) and Modo gun metal (MX-02). With the mask on, I cannot tell much of the difference of this "metallic" 338 compared to the actual 338. There will be a few more colors to be applied in the exhaust ports.

Masking is a basic technique for this 1/144 F-22A.

The below photo was taken before the masking exercise, F-22A together with a 1/144 RG core fighter.

Core fighter is so small compared to F-22A, and remember - core fighter can work in both earth and space !

HG Hyaku Shiki Revive #13 (Completed)

Made the antenna with sprue, applied silver (Gaia 1001) on it and the exhaust port, then clear orange on the bottom holes of the exhaust port.

Finished the build.

Trumpeter 1/144 F-16A/C #1

This flight is even smaller than the F-22A, less parts too.
Started with the ejection seat and cockpit, fit is good, just need to add a small piece of plastic sheet to cover up the back of the seat.

Trumpeter 1/144 F-22A #4

Another round of masking for small - yes, 1/144 very small - block for light grey. It is beyond testing for eye sight, it is also testing for patience.

Waited for half a day, applied decals and another half of day, applied a few layer of gloss clear.

The decals are very thin, I have damaged a few while applying, and some of the decals "match" the recommended color of GSI #308 (the middle grey color) and are almost invisible. Ok, it is a "hidden"fighter, isn't it ?
