BMT GT016 #1

Spent some time on the chassis. The material is heavy duty. Have to file a bit on the front upper arms where it is interference with the upper arm mount to ensure a smooth movement. Other than that, pay attention to the direction of the mid bridge where the long and front belts meet. If direction of the metal block is incorrect, the large pulley will touch the edge of bottom chassis. Some of the ball stub length might need to swap  (eg the one for rear anti roll bar connector) for perfect clearance

I like the clutch, easy to build and adjust. Need to sit the 4 bearings nicely otherwise you might find the clubch bell stuck after locking the end bell screw.
Fitted in an old Reds WCS M7 engine and pipe set for initial run.
Lastly, it seems that the throttle servo might block the fuel tank to sit in properly if a standard size servo is used. I will try to shim it and adjust further before changing to a low profile servo.

Serpent 977 reborn

After some maintenance - replaced rubber seal between pipe and manifold, replaced some tension springs, put in another run-in OS 2101 with Collari optional backplate, new tubing all around, new tires combo (Matrix 30/35), replaced bearing on 2speed spur, and a new body shell. It is back to live.
And most importantly, an additional 2mm spacer on the rear upright. Help the car to be more active in the rear end. Magical change the car characteristic.

1/48 Unicorn Gundam RX-0 Head Display Base #2

2 thin layers of Mr Surface 1200 diluted with Gaia T01s solution in 1:1 ratio. Spray with Iwata HP-TH at low air pressure (using Tamiya blue compressor and 3/4 mac). Surface is quite smooth. Leave it for a day.

Next will be ready for some white / grey. Thinking of some Mr Color and Gaia paints.

AYK 86J

Old kit, pending for restoration :) found a new bottom chassis from Japan recently. Need a nice TOJ body shell next.

My first US airbrush - Badger Sotar 20/20

First timer on made in USA airbrush
Initial feeling - they do not care about tool outlook as long as it is functional :)

It is brand new, and I don't quite understand why there is color inside the paint cup. Use both water base solution and liquor base solution to wash but it is still there ...

Opened up the airbrush and clean different parts, rebuild it, and it is still very smooth. Noticed the design of the 0.18mm nozzle - does not require screw-in and it will be self-center when install. Quite similar to the Iwata HP-CS nozzle except the CS has a much bigger nozzle. Definitely a plus when doing cleaning. Will try how it paint next time, perhaps on 1/48 unicorn head ...

1/48 Unicorn Gundam RX-0 Head Display Base #1

Got this small kit quite some years ago as a gift from a magazine.
Don't even know what is it until lately.
Spent a few days to clean the cutting marks from the parts, soaked them in cleaning solution overnight and did a test fit.
So far so good. I don't have any Gundam to display, so will just build this without the standing arm.
I also don't really like the "modern" Gundam face, I am more an old school for the Origin ... hence will not "allow" it to be transferable (in fact I am just lazy).

Next step : apply surface primer to and maybe some little details on panel lines.

3Racing FGX Evo 2018

Not a new release, it is possibly 2 years old design. It is still a unique F1, very realistic, and I hope the material improves this time. An unique 4 wheel individual suspension design.

Collection - Yokomo MR4TC SSG Special

I love MR4TC series, first it is first Yokomo machine I ever own, and it denoted my return to RC since I quitted in late 80's.
I still have the very original MR4TC tube car, and here is possibly the last generation of MR4TC before SD and BD took over.

Schumacher pan cars

After trying the Atom GT12, I found that I have full confidence on Schumacher pan cars ...

AYK Cyclone 401

Another NIB !! One of its kind, 2WD pan car with 4 individual suspension !

Collection : AYK Parsec III Special

Used, but condition isn't too bad. Really like the design of the front damper, classic since 80's.

Another used Yokomo YZ834B

Missing rear shock, otherwise, in very good condition.

Collection - AYK Bobcat

NIB :)

Improvement to the Iwata CR airbrush

Sourced an optional handle with paint flow control from Taiwan. Quality is good and it does not affect the balance of the airbrush. Fitting nicely too, without any problem.

Before the change, with the optional part on top :

After the change, it looks nicer in my view. Not sure why Iwata does not have this option tho.

Racing 43 1/43 Seat Cordoba WRC Ufficiale Safari 99 progress #10

Haven't updated the progress for a long while .... my bad.
Picked up the work again latest, installed window / wind shield - it is not easy as the transparent part isn't really fitting well. End up cut off the transparent part into pieces and fit one by one. Lesson learnt - have to test fit the window part before painting the body shell so there is change to adjust the fitting .... water base flat black on the window frame.

Cockpit build, flat black for dashboard and seats, applied stickers, metal silver for the fire extinguisher.

Last but not least, AB glue to install the rear spoiler and roof part on the main body. Tamiya XF1 enamel base diluted for the panel lines.

Man ... now is 2020, I recalled I bought this kit (my first metal 1/43) day back in 2000 or 2001 .... ok, at least, I did not waste the HKD 300.

A few new body shells for RC

3 new body shells paint job recently.

CRC Black Art Bomb R 1/12 for Xray X12. Painted with Iwata CR.

Model F 1/12 GT shell for Schumacher Atom. Also painted with Iwata CR :

And 1/10 LM bodyshell for Xray X10, painted with GSI PS-289 (should have used another 0.5mm airbrush as it is much better in surface compared to 1/12 shell)

Time for new tools

Beside those workhorse, here are the additional items I have :

Iwata HP-TR, 0.5mm my only trigger type airbrush. Good for working on large surface and long paint job, can save your index finger.

H&S, Germany made Infinity, comes with 0.2mm and 0.4mm bundle with two sizes of paint cups.

Then, the Iwata CM-C2 Plus, 0.23mm

And the Tamiya HG3 Black Edition

my usual airbrushes

Most of time, they are the workhorse, for many years. Use them for most of my scale models and RC body shells.

Iwata HP-CR, 0.5mm

GSI PS-289, 0.3mm
