Egress Vintage Restoration #3

Been a while since last touch of this restoration. 

More static modelling lately rather than the lovely RC. Actually I did a few test run with the Egress and broke its front gear box, have to complete rebuild the front transmission and suspension with re-release parts. 

Here we have it again, pending body shell painting and ESC re-programming to disable all unwanted boost and turbo. 

Unlike other restoration projects, I aim to make this car run, instead of being a shelf queen, hence I did not bother to polish the old parts. I focus on its functional - gear ratio for brushless motor output, replaced old plastic if they became brittle ... however, for those old parts which are still in function, I decided to keep them as-is. I am hence driving an old Egress (chassis, most of the transmission gears, dog-bones, wheel adaptors, real wing, under-tray ....) with some re release parts (steering arms, bearing hubs, a-arms .... ).

Hexa Gear 1/24 Governor Warmage Hetzer #3

Completed the base build together with sanding down seam lines. 

Decided to change color, and since it is mostly ABS plastic, applied a layer of the multi primer (for rubber) followed by GSI #1200 surfacer. The multi primer instruction mentioned that I have to cover it with a color (I used 1200 surfacer) within 5-7 mins, I guess it is due to the nature of its stickiness. First time I used surface primer for rubber. 

And yes, there is one part in the face together with the eye piece which I did not bother to paint, just leave it as its original form. 

But ....

Since I did not applied the multi primer twice - where should be applied in all the joints of legs and hands. And I did apply GSI color on the joints TWICE. Joints of one hand and one leg broke or cracked or melted, whatever it was.

Lesson learnt. And will pay more attention next time with ABS & PP material. 

I will apply glue to fix these joints, and hence the pose will be "fixed" too.

Day 2 of the build, completed both hands and started with one leg. 

Should be able to complete soon. Moving is smooth except that both palms seems to be easy to drop out.
