Racing 43 1/43 Seat Cordoba WRC Ufficiale Safari 99 progress #11

Decided today is the day to start the challenge : 1/43 seat belts.

Each seat has 5 belts - total 10 PE parts per seat.

When I am done with the 3 short one and think already hard enough, here is the next level of challenge - the two long belts.

Due to the age of the kit, the belt supposed to be sticky and can "flip" to hold the PE part in position is not longer sticky.

Reality is to apply glue to keep the belt in flip position where the PE part can hang at the end of the belt.

I did one seat today, I did not clock how much time but guess it is about 1.5 to 2 hours. Decided to end there for the day as my eyes need rest.

Result is acceptable, not perfect as a new starter on 1/43 kit and my first 1/43 kit.

Matrix R10 Hammer body shell for MTX7

Coated a few layers of FaskOak with Sparmax Flyer SR, a protection layer from nitro. The Flyer SR seems to be a good fit for large area coverage, even with FaskOak which is a bit sticky, as long as the air pressure is over 50psi. It is easy to clean too - with running water / warm water.

Upgrade Mini-Z buggy

Before the operation :
Started with the obvious simple change - battery cover :
And then the shocks and shock towers :

Time for test run :

Re-make of legend : Yokomo YZ 834b

A re-make of the legend (not by me), most of the parts are same as original except being machined in alloy and graphite, and converted to belt drive instead.

Sworkz S35-GT

First impression on open box - alloy parts are nicely machined and coated.

1/48 Unicorn Gundam RX-0 Head Display Base #5 Finished

On and off for a few months, put all parts together and applied two thin layers of Tamiya flat coat (spray can). Call for the end.

1/48 Unicorn Gundam RX-0 Head Display Base #4

Spray the forehead cover with a mixed grey - by mixing Mr Color 308 and 311 (for airplane), and from the mixture, add a few drops of Gaia 063 blue-grey to paint the main base.
Applied panel lines and weathering as usual.
Cannot wait to put them together - been waiting for this moment for months !
Applied decals (Bandai UC but sure not 1/48), and found that weathering is too heavy around the helmet area. Will have to add a bit of weathering or smokey feel on both side of the head and forehead cover to make the tone more consistent.

Badger Patriot 105 and new body shell for Xray RX8

Testing the Patriot 105 (0.5mm) with Tamiya water base paint (PC series), Faskolor water base paint and RCS liquor base paint. It is easy to handle except the Faskolor fluorescent paints where the thickness of the paint and air pressure need further adjustment.

Cleaning the airbrush is relatively easy, no need to deal with the tiny nozzle and worry about damaging it.
