X-rider 1/8 Cafe Racer EP motorcycle

Start setting up this bike and learn on the radio channel mixing for ESC brake (rear) and front disc brake to work together.

The bike is preassembled by factory including servo (x2) and ESC and just need radio to make it work.

Look very nice.

Bodyshell for BMT GT016

A project that has been spread across 2020 and 2021. Completed the chassis build long time ago and only managed to complete the body shell in last month of 2021.

Target to test run before the new year !!

HG Hyaku Shiki Revive #1

I was not so sure what to build next after the RG RX-78-2. Was thinking of another RG, but end up decided to start a relatively new HG product -  Hyaku Shiki Revive. Reading others' comments and tips online and think it will be a good one to start in Dec.

Read through the manual, it is a nice designed kit not just the overall look but also in term of the way it is being designed to build.

Here is all the runners - soaked them in soap and have a wash.
I did not follow the way I follow when building the last two RG/HG, which was step by step approach. This time - everything cut off from runners and will go through the sanding process all together.
Sanding parts in progress, I spent around an hour a day, and so far managed to complete half of the parts after a week.

IGT8 completed and tested

It is a solid build as I kept saying. And I have assigned a dedicated driver to IGT8 too :)

Migrated the electronics and engine (REDS Monster GT) from the decommissioned Team C GT, and did a few tanks of testing last weekend. The handling is a lot more agile compared to the Team C, the car is feeling more alive and close to a 1/10 TC.

I always run foam tires on Team C GT and this time, started using the PMT rubber tires. Frankly it does not lose to the foam in term of traction and it certainly can last for more tanks !

IGT8 build #3

Complete most of the chassis build except the middle gear box which I think the wrong screws have been placed in the bag.

The next RG project

RG Z'Gok MSM-07s - look like it has less parts than the RG RX-78-2.

E Model Ironman

Mark 46 and 49. Nice packaging. The manual is clear, with both English and Chinese instructions.

IGT8 build #2

Front gear box and suspension arms are done so far, smooth build and parts are nicely made.

When screwing into carbon graphite plate, make sure to apply a little bit of black grease on the screw to avoid damage of the graphite plate.

A beautiful kit, fully opened bonnet, doors and rear cover. Fully functional suspensions and rear spoiler which can move up and down.

Bicycle maintenance NK1K

Think I have not wash this chain and pulley for quite a long time. Deep clean it today and get it ready for next ride.

Re Release Hotshot chassis built

Think I started to build this hotshot 7-8 years ago. But I never get it done until recently.

I lost my original 1985 Hotshot which ran into the sea of Hong Kong in the 80s due to radio jam. It marked a scar inside me.

In 2021, I got it built up again, although it is never the same Hotshot, it is still a classic design chassis. Too lazy to fit in a brushless system inside the water proof compartment, just go with the old brush system which has a very small footprint.

I did not drill hole on body shell for the antenna, and let the receive antenna wire to run through the roll cage instead.

Yet to complete the motor wiring and the body shell paint job. Sure soon to get all done this time.

RG RX-78-2 #12

Decided to ignore the weapons for time being, and call for an end to the project.

It has been a good 6 months to complete this RG kit, my first RG, and my first RX-78-2 !

A lot of flaws, eg, broke the left leg "bone", some armour pieces are too thin and I did broke some of them when fitting together, the head - the rear camera I think I put in a wrong angle and try to fix it but end up scratch more .... etc, good news is that RG is small and its flaws are even smaller :) overall good lessons learnt, I have to say I enjoyed it much, satifaction is much more than the HG Zaku F2 I built last time.

IGT8 build #1

The kit comes with a handy bag, and parts are grouped in bag with a QR code for easy access to instruction video for each steps. The metal parts are beautifully machined too.

Started with front and rear differentials as usual, using the 500k and 50k oil come with the kit

The front gear box - alloy parts are nicely machined and fit perfectly, it feels very solid !
