HG Hyaku Shiki Revive #12

Semi final - skirt amour and backpack in place

HSGK KOG and two different scales of Daccas

Trumpeter 1/144 F-22A #3

After fixing the holes under wings, applied a layer of GSI #1500 primer overall, and then white for the gear wells and weapons compartments, light grey on the edges as per the instruction. Then fun time started - masking for the light grey area. Think I have spent over 2 hours to complete it. The gear wells and weapon compartments were covered by the respective covers provided in the kit during the paint job.

Noted that F-22A is way bigger than the F-16.
Applied grey and dark grey according to the instruction's color reference. I did not follow the "pattern" as per instruction and "design" the camouflage.

Weekend vintage Egress outing

Found a small and quiet playground for the run. The surface is perfect for foam tires.

The feeling of being a kid again after all these years.

Trumpeter 1/144 F-22A #2

Applied some black glue to fill the gap under wing. Sanded it down.

Mask the canopy and ready for first primer.

First primer done to check the surface.

More black glue and sanding on the under-wing, also tried to close the two out holes on each side under wing for the extension mount, as I will only use the inner mount for the fuel tank.

Installed the vertical stabilizers and also attempt the fill the gap with black glue.

Sharpen the major panel lines with a 0.125 chisel and recovered the details which have been sanded down.

It is small, however the details aren't too bad !

Trumpeter 1/144 F-22A #1

My very first 1/144 airplane model kit, my first touch of Trumpeter kit.

Started with cockpit - 4 pieces of small parts, no detail but just some sharp shapes to represent the 1/144 cockpit. Painted black and highlighted with some German grey.
Glued the small parts inside the lower fuselage, parts are small, but still have good details, fitting is not bad.

Applied a few thin layers of Tamiya smoke (x19) followed by clear yellow (x24) on the inner surface of the canopy. Gun metal (x10) on the inner wall of the exhaust ports and some black / grey color in the inner frame of the fuselage as the plastic is really thin in some area.

After a day, glued the upper and lower fuselage together, added air intake ports too.

Fitting is nice, no major faulty area. There are a few mold marking on the upper surface of the wings and on the main body just behind the cockpit. sanding them down and also sanding down all the gaps where the upper and lower fuselage combined. Will then check if any putty filling is required.

Definitely NOT a Bandai type of model kit which trial build is almost not required and parts are just fitted together like magic, but if I can manage it as a newbie to airplane model, I am sure it is an above-average kit !

Kaiyodo 1/35 Gacha Filege Kauz #2

Continue the trial build.

Note that this is a newer version of the Kaiyodo's "egg", while there are improvements on the kits including some parts has direction guide and there is only one direction which can fit and the thickness of the amour seems to get thinner and less bulky than the previous one I built.

When building the wrist on to the upper body, better to install the front and two side skirt amour first, then the wrist part without both legs, and finally the rear skirt amour. They have some "lock" among these parts to avoid getting loose.

The two legs position look a bit weird, altho it can still stands but I think the two feet are too close to each other.

Trumpeter 1/144 F-22A box opening - first jet project after almost 40 years

When I was in school - cannot even remember if it was primary school or early in secondary school, one day my beloved father picked me up from school, and we went to walk in the model shop nearby.
I think it was a Tamiya F-14 I took, is it 1/32 (don't think so), 48 or 72, which I cannot remember also. I remembered, it was a big box (which is not a big box for a kid ?), and I was a happy boy.

Did I finish it ? I think I did. Where is it ? long gone, again, bad memory and hard to recall now.

What is important was the fatherhood and the childhood, and the bonding. I missed it, a lot.

After all these years, I decided to give it a try again.
And going to start with a small one, really tiny one - 1/144 F-22A from Trumpeter.

Kit seems to be well made, tiny but lots of details. Looking forward to start the build soon.

Kaiyodo 1/35 Gacha Filege Kauz #1

My 2nd attempt on the egg's 1/35 powered suit.
Trial build started.

There are some underrates and also come with not just a stand for it to stand on top, but also an attached position with a transparent rod so it can display as floating position ! There are no gap to fill as there is not left and right parts to be glued together, only some seams to deal with. Amazing 1/35 kit.

During the trial build I found that the two feet are a bit too close to each other and require some minor adjustment.

HG Hyaku Shiki Revive #11

Completed the rest of golden parts with Gaia Star Bright Gold and additional coating of water base gloss clear. While waiting for the parts to dry, try assembling the backpack.

Love Love Garden !

First time to see product from Japan Love Love Garden.

A special Ma.k. vehicle.

Also got the 1/20 hands set for powered suits, the packaging is like a pack of chocolates.

Entry Grade Strike #4

Completed the base build and painting, used a lot of metallic color this time, I am happy with the light pink on hands & legs and the deep red on body. The metallic pink and pink are really what I want. Will tune the color for next Rouge project.
