Xray x10 Link
Finalizing initial setup of x10 link. In order to achieve front 5 mm and rear 6mm ride height, you can see the amount of extra collars I have inserted in front (red color), mid (red color) and rear motor mount (silver + blue). I am using the -2.5mm insert for the rear axle already. If you happen to have a better way to reduce the rear ride height effectively, other than trim down the rear tires diameter or increase the CG, please share with me !

rollout around 42.5 mm
gear ratio : 25/88T
Ride height - F 4.2 / R 4.4mm
Shock - Yokomo 550wt
Tubes - Kyosho 30,000 oil
Rear down stop at 1mm

Serpent S411 Test Run
Here is the basic setup of the chassis :
Front gear diff (500k wt) / Rear gear diff (1200wt)
Front gear diff (500k wt) / Rear gear diff (1200wt)
Shocks oil F/R Yokomo 450wt, Springs - stock
Change to harden a-arms all around, and also place 2mm collar in front of rear a-arm along the inner pin to lengthen the wheel base.

Camber -1 all around, Sorex 40R with Yokomo 039m inserts.
Ride height F/R 4.6mm/4.8mm
ESC - Viper VTX10 with 10.5 motor, gear at 22/84T.
ESC profile #7, with the following changes :
PWM freq 8k
Boost start/end RPM 9k/18k
Boost degree - 24 / Turbo degree 30 / Turbo slope 15 degree per 1,000 rpm
Voltage cut off - 6.6v
Temp protection ESC/motor - 220F
Started testing at around 615pm for first pack and around 7pm for 2nd pack. S411 has lots of steering and overall very stable. ESC was at around 50C and motor at around 70C after 7min of run time. Need to fine tune futher for more top speed and more steering when acceleration, also found that the front springs (orange) are a bit too hard.
More testing to be done this coming Sat !

SpeedPassion GT 2.0 on Photon
Latest test result on Photon with SP 2.0 with SP 110323 stock profile is positive.
Photon is equipped with SP v3 9.5 motor at final gear ratio ~8.67 (18/78T).
ESC setup attached for reference - motor temp is around 65C after 9min of run time under hot weather. Both ESC and motor are attached to cooling fan. Track is out door high grip and technical layout.

VM2 setup
After some testing session and rebuild of VM2, here is the most recent setup I am
running. Anti-roll bar F med / R soft.

Latest change is adding 0.5mm shim in F wheel hex and 1mm in rear wheel hex.
The car is a lot more stable now but need more in-field steering when exit corners.
More testing to follow.

New equipment on Xray 12 Link
Replaced the brushed motor and ESC with the SXX Competition v2 and Orca 4.5t motor.
Testing the ESC profile between 1630 and 1730. Roll out is kept around 35.8mm. Main shock at 30wt, slide shock at 45wt and all springs are stock from the box. 4.4mm / 4.6mm ride height.
Had 10 packs of practice today !!

F104Pro
F1 has been a hot topic between my friends here, I have just completed my F104Pro and tested run today - if you cannot beat them, be part of them - welcome to the dark side !
My F104Pro is equipped with KO VFS1 C2 ESC with a special siliver can, tested with stock gear ratio and original form tires. Will have to tune up more in the next meeting.

416WE rework
Yokomo R12
Happy new year 2011 !
First car to run on 1-1-2011 is my R12.
It is equipped with SXX v2 comp and a x11 4.0t and a HB bodyshell.
Original tires (Yokomo 27t and 28t) is a bit thick, rear tires diameter at 51.5mm !
First testing is basically stock setup, ride height is 4.5mm/F and 5mm/R, a bit high but I cannot do much with the thick tires, it will be smaller anyway after a few runs.
Gear ratio at 20/90T with a rollout ~35.9.
SXX setting is 1630 as a fresh start.
So far so good and the car seems to have high grip in and out corners.
I am happy on the first run especially on 1 Jan with special permission by my boss.
A good way to start 2011.
