Xray X4 2022 #1

Another series of modernized TC I want to build after the experience with Yokomo BD series.
The build quality is Xray standard - parts and screws are well organized, open and use bag by bag. Parts fitting are nice, and with the new type of arms - I can save a night of work compared to those arms from BD family. Power HD has released a special version of its S15 servo - S-15X which is designed especially for X4, there is no need to install any servo mount and as the "ear" has been integrated with the serve case, with 3 screws - servo will fit directly on the bottom chassis.

Yokomo BD12 build in progress #6 (completed)

Final setup and test run !

It is good that BD11 and BD12 can share the same bodyshell perfectly.

The middle one in below pic is BD12, with its older brother BD11 in the bottom.

They really look alike, with the same DNA. obvious differences are the split upper deck and rear shock mount point for BD12.

RC10 4WD #6 (completed)

Last step to complete the kit, soldering and spray the bodyshell.

A simple job this time with Tamiya spray can.

Xray X12 2021 chassis build #2

Soldering job done - after so many year of its build.

Yokomo BD12 build in progress #5

Soldering job done on the ESC / motor wiring

Still thinking about the radio - might use the Flysky this time.
Pending shocks to build, and the bodyshell can be shared with BD11.

RC10 4WD #5

Chassis is ready - tick
Tires are glued - tick
ESC and motor / batt wiring done - tick
It is an old Nosram ESC and Viper 10.5 motor

And now, the tough part - body shell !
Cut the basic shape and opening following the suggested mark on the body shell - remember, it is for 2WD version.
Trimming to fit on the 4WD chassis - done, but not perfect, have to cut out more material in front near the shock tower
The rear bodypost has not enough clearance - hence adding one more original tick shim to make it slightly higher. The front bodypost, after shimming to the max - it is still not going to have enough height to reach the bodyshell. I used a TC bodyshell to replace it at the end, it works and it is simple.

Next :
1. basic setup, camber and ride height
2. radio setup and ESC setup
3. body paint
