A pair of TC for next project

Select one of them to start with next build

ARC A10 23' vs Serpent X20 (released in 2019)
Both are coming with paperless manual - ARC has one paper with QR code on it, X20 has a USB drive.
Opened both boxes and look at the chassis

The ARC chassis has pre-cut edge at bottom face. Something I have not seen for years, last was one of the older Xray T platform when NiMH battery slots were pre-filed.

PR Racing V4TR #3

Masking the bodyshell then decide the color to go ....

Team Infinity IF-14-II Mid #3

Completed front suspension setup and waiting for the rear PRS to continue.

Drive train is very smooth, with effective and easy to balance front anti-roll bar.

Team Infinity IF-14-II Mid #2

Drive train built and it is very smooth !

The manual is also well organized, with parts grouped together step step. Fitting is perfect too.

Team Infinity IF-14-II Mid #1

While the two TC projects are closed, and the 1/10 2WD truck is on right schedule, I cannot stop but start the next project. IF14-II Mid this time.

First step is gluing the bottom chassis plate, followed by degrease all ball bearings.

Hang on - is it just for ONE TC ?

The selection of screws and shims and ball bearings require a bit of attention to ensure the right parts are used.

One evening work post dinner.

The mid pulley setup is a bit comple compared to those Yokomo kits, however, it serves the purpose of the maintenance work and actually it is not over-engineering. The outcome is a solid and easy to maintain mid pulley.

Team Losi 22X AC

A good friend share this kit with me.
It is a gift from the friend, and I cannot express enough on my appreciation for this.

It is time to open box, in fact, there are two boxes. One is the shipment paper box, and then the actual kit box.

Manual is a book indeed

See how many pages !

Xray X4 2022 #5 (Completed)

Bodyshell is ready too, now just pending final setup before test run.

Tamiya TA08R #4 (completed)

Found an old body shell from the stash. Think it might be from Ride but cannot be sure now.
Actually sprayed two bodyshells over the weekend. One for TA08R, the other one is for Xray X4 2022.
The one in middle is the old bodyshell used on BD11 and 12.

In the picture :
The lowest one is Xtreme Twister Speciale
Middle one is Xtreme Ghibli
Top could be from Ride

Done - ready to test run

The bodyshell is so different than today TC bodyshell, with a short bonet and long tail ...

PR Racing V4TR #2

Continue with shocks and bodyshell today
It is getting there

And its original paper box is now free, empty.
So I try to see what can I use it for.
Perfect for 1/10 TC

Next TC Projects ??

It took me a while to learn and completed Yokomo BD11 and I ran the kit since 2024.

Understand more about modern TC, and in 2025, I have built BD12, X4 (original 2022 version) and TA08R.

What is next ?

PR Racing V4TR #1

Started this kit years ago when it first released. But never finish it.
Pick up again and restart the project.

Where it was :
And some progress today :

Tamiya 1/10 .12 Engine

Found this engine to be perfect match for the TG10 mk 2 !

Tamiya TA08R #3

Chassis setup done and body shell prepared

Cannot recall which bodyshell is it. It might be one of those from Ride in old days.

Tamiya TA08R #2

Found an Sanwa 971 servo - possibly bought 10+ years ago, not high torque at all in today standard. However, should be good enough for running blinky mode. At same time, also found the control 13.5 motor for TITC 2014 in my storage. It is Orca TI. Hence, decided to use it on TA08R project.

So far the build has been smooth, parts are considered small in my previous Tamiya RC kit experience but not that bad compared to previous Yokomo and Xray projects. I was told Awesomatix would be the ultimate challenge in term of part size ... I keep this in mind and will have to try one to believe.

Next is the ESC. I found an Orca VTC TC spec ESC, it has a large footprint hence leave a little place for the receiver. Flysky receiver just fits in nicely. Soldering job done on a Sunday morning.

I started this build on Monday, managed some hours to contribute to the project after office and by Sunday evening, it is mostly done.

Next is the bodyshell preparation and paint work, chassis setup and then test run !

Switch and race game

New to Switch, and started with a Mario racing game.

FWD fever

Got the latest FWD - X4F 26' and FT9
Especially X4F, seems to be a complicated build. Not what I had built since the Tamiya FF03 time.

Tamiya TA08R #1

My last Tamiya TC was TRF417 I think which is like 10+ years ago.

While I have the TRF421 in the pipeline, I need to try this TA08R first. I plan to use older generation of 13.5T motor on it with boost and turbo. Let see if the plastic chassis can handle the load.

I have a pair of TA08 family, the other one is the Pro while I also have the necessary upgrade to make it a semi-R version.
